NYS Boating Safety Equipment and Regulations
New York State navigation law requires specific equipment on different types and size of vessels. The chart below helps determine the equipment required for those vessels.
NOTICE!
Although a VHF marine radio is not required safety equipment, it is highly recommended that every
vessel have on board at least a hand held portable VHF and a cell phone for emergency communications.
